Hi, my name is Duoer Amy Yu, and I am a senior at Troy High School, Fullerton, CA. For the past three years, I have been actively involved in Drones4Kids and DronesbyGirls, where I have had the opportunity to share my passion for drones and STEM with younger students. I regularly participate in events at local libraries and STEM fairs, teaching youth how to safely fly drones and encouraging them to explore technology through hands-on experiences. I am now proud to serve as the President of DronesbyGirls, where I hope to inspire more girls to discover their interests in drones, engineering, and STEM.

Hello everyone! I'm Soahn, a junior at Troy High School, Fullerton, CA. I am also a part of the Troy NJROTC Aerial RecDrones Team. Being one of the few females in my Aerial RecDrones Team, DronesByGirls's mission statement spoke out to me. I joined this amazing organization because I wanted to contribute to an environment that encouraged young girls to thrive in male-dominated fields. Although this is my second year in DronesByGirls, I quickly fell in love with the joy that teaching and interacting with aspiring, young girls brings me, as well as the opportunity to spread awareness about drones. I cannot wait to find ways to reach wider audiences and see how this amazing organization grows in the future.

South Pasadena High School Chapter

Hi! I’m LangXi (Lacie) Zhou, a senior at South Pasadena High School, Pasadena, CA. Since my sophomore year, I’ve been involved with Drones4Kids and DronesByGirls, helping younger students explore drones and STEM through hands-on activities and community events. One of my favorite parts has been watching students go from nervously holding the controller to excitedly flying a drone on their own. As chapter president, I hope to create more of those moments by giving girls the chance to try new things, build confidence, and discover just how much they can do with technology.

Portola High School Chapter

My name is Callia Rose Lea and often go by “Rose”. I am a sophomore at Portola High School, Irvine, CA. I’m part of the Varsity dance team. I am also planning to compete in DECA along with the business club. I became interested in drones because Drones4Kids gave me a unique opportunity to compete for the first time in 8th grade as Orange County’s first all girl drone team along with my friends. I learned a valuable skill in flying drones and autonomous flight with coding. Our team ended up winning the “All Around” championship. I have been volunteering with Drone4Kids since that competition so I can teach, pique interest and give back to the community especially other girls.

Hello, my name is Kelly Frederking, and I am a junior at Woodbridge High School, Irvine, CA. I have a strong interest in STEM, particularly in drone technology and its growing role in shaping the future. I chose to be apart of DronesByGirls because I believe that drones will become an essential part of daily life and other activities. Through this program, I hope to deepen my understanding of this technology and help inspire the younger generation to explore the exciting opportunities it offers.

Hi, I'm Laura, and I am a senior at Northwood High School, Irvine, CA. I am passionate about STEM and technology, especially drones and the many ways they can be used in the future. I joined DronesByGirls because I love working with kids and helping them explore new skills in a fun and supportive environment. Through this club, I hope to inspire younger students to become interested in drones, engineering, and other STEM fields while building confidence and creativity along the way.
